Tarkov Hideout Guide: Build Order & Passive Income
The Hideout is your base of operations between raids — and one of the most important money-making systems in Tarkov. Players who ignore it fall behind economically. Players who optimize it generate millions in passive income without stepping into a single raid.

Why the Hideout Changes Everything
New players often focus entirely on in-raid gameplay and neglect the Hideout for the first week. This is a significant mistake. The Hideout is a passive system that runs while you sleep, while you're at work, and between raids. Every hour you delay building your Medstation is an hour of cheaper healing you're not getting. Every day your Bitcoin Farm sits empty is a day of passive income you're not earning.
The Hideout has multiple modules — each unlocks at certain trader loyalty levels and requires specific materials found in raids. Some materials are common and easy to find. Others require specific rooms on specific maps. The most important principle is this: don't hoard materials in your stash waiting for a "perfect moment" to build. Build each module the moment you have the required materials and unlock conditions. The sooner it's running, the more value it generates over the wipe.
The Optimal Build Order
This isn't the only order — some players deviate based on their playstyle and available materials — but this sequence maximizes early income and minimizes per-raid costs for most players.
The Generator powers everything in the Hideout. Without it, nothing else works. Build this the moment you have the materials — no exceptions.
Unlocks crafting of Salewas — the best early-game healing kit. Salewas heal 400 HP and cost much less to craft than to buy. This directly reduces your per-raid survival cost.
Lets you repair weapons in your Hideout. Repairing weapons at Mechanic is more expensive. This cuts per-raid weapon maintenance cost and enables some useful crafts.
Reduces your Scav cooldown timer from 20 minutes to 15 minutes per raid session. More Scav runs per play session = more free gear = more income. Level 2 unlocks additional benefits.
Your most important long-term investment. Start building it as soon as you unlock it — even one GPU produces income over time. The farm produces physical bitcoins worth 700k–900k₽ each.
Crafts Moonshine, which is the best fuel for the Scav Case. The Moonshine → Scav Case loop is one of the most profitable passive income sources in the game. Craft time is long but ROI is excellent.
Each GPU slot you fill increases Bitcoin output rate. The farm scales from 1 GPU (very slow) to 50 GPUs (maximum rate, roughly 1 Bitcoin every 6 hours). Build the farm up incrementally — every GPU you add improves the income rate.
Unlocks crafting of SJ6 stimulants and other high-value items. The SJ6 stim craft has a strong profit margin and is always in demand. Also enables crafting of AI-2 medkits for personal use.
Bitcoin Farm: Your Most Important Long-Term Investment
The Bitcoin Farm is the most important passive income source in Tarkov over the course of a wipe. It converts Graphics Cards (GPUs) into physical bitcoins — an in-game item worth 700k–900k₽ each on the Flea Market. The more GPUs you have loaded into the farm, the faster it produces coins.
The farm scales non-linearly: 1 GPU produces 1 Bitcoin every roughly 20 hours, while 50 GPUs (the maximum) produce 1 Bitcoin every ~6 hours. A maxed farm generates approximately 3–4 Bitcoins per day, which at current market prices is between 2.5m₽ and 3.5m₽ in passive daily income. That's more than most players make in several hours of active raiding.
The challenge is acquiring GPUs. They're not commonly sold on the Flea Market (due to their value) and they spawn in specific locations — technology areas on Reserve and Interchange, marked room loot on Customs and Shoreline, and occasionally from the Scav Case. Don't buy GPUs on the Flea — the prices are typically 200–350k₽ each, which makes the break-even period very long. Farm them in raids instead.
Craft Loops That Make Money
Beyond passive income from the Bitcoin Farm, active craft loops in the Medstation, Workbench, and other modules generate additional profit. The key is to start a craft, go do a raid or two, come back and collect, restart the craft. Treat it like a cooking timer — check it when you log in, restart it when it's done.
Scav Case: Gamble Passive Income
The Scav Case is a Hideout module that sends your Scav to loot something and returns with random items after a time delay. The quality of the return is largely determined by what you send. Three options exist: rubles (safe, low ROI), intelligence folders (medium cycle, decent ROI), and Moonshine (longest wait, highest potential reward including LEDX).
The Moonshine route has the highest expected value per craft if you're patient. One LEDX return from a Moonshine Scav Case run pays back a dozen Moonshine investments. Most returns won't be LEDX, but the average across many runs makes it the best choice if you have consistent Moonshine production from the Booze Generator.
